Hello, loves!
I'm here. Here, then there, and now back again, I could say, if I wanted to be precise.
Back from that summer trip that always falls beginning of August, this time with a truly tiny cabin in the woods waiting for us from whose screened porch I lounged with a book while casting a glance toward the rippled lake now an then. From which boys traipsed back and forth with wakeboards and life vests, beach towels and junk food. From whose teeny kitchen one night came one of the best BBQ rib dinners we've had (thanks to that man of ours).
And home again (our house feels so big!). Home to mowing grass, pulling weeds, and playing rousing games of badminton on the lawn, the boundaries of which are marked by overturned clay flower pots - cones of sorts, swiped from my collection (those boys are inventive). And a garden bursting with cucumbers and broccoli. If nothing else has grown much this year, at least they have in spades.
Now on to the flurry that is the count-down to schools' start. Pencils and paper, forms and fees. Bigger shoes, bigger shirts, bigger jeans. Gracious, it's a wonder. These guys are ready-not-ready. You know how it goes, we all want to hang on to these long summer days with everything we've got until the very end.
P.S. Be looking for regular posting to resume here on the blog on September 1!!
