Hello, loves. Things have shifted and turned; we're in a new year. A fresh start of this sort makes us want to wipe our slates clean, to begin again, to write down a list underlined with intention & determination. We plan how to become our better selves.
Mostly, I've learned, though, when the calendar turns from December to January, to simply stay steady. To carry on.
I spend a bit of time looking back, yes, (hindsight being 20/20 and all), and a bit of time tidying, readying for a fresh start, but mostly, I take the new day, new month, new year, with anticipation of what I'll find there, hopefully not smothering it from the get-go with my own expectations, not cramming it into my own tiny box. Those 365 days ahead are their own; I'll find out what each one holds when I get there.
I suppose it's a thread spun of intention and wonder both that I'm talking about. Planning my time, setting intentions, writing hopes, then leaving room to discover what has already been penned for each day of my life by the author of all of them.
