With the coming and going that we all do, the remember this and remember that, it's no wonder an array of planners, organizers, and daytimers have been thought up, each one no doubt a solution far better than tying strings around fingers.
Problem for me, though, I couldn't find a planner that was just right. The way my mind works didn't fit well into a pre-printed planner designed by someone else. Too busy, too big, too small, too complicated, too much space here, too little there - all this in one way or other equalled a planner that wasn't used well.
And the overwhelming array of digital planners and apps available now? Well, for me, the response is please, less screen time, not more. I want the pages.
A few weeks back, I stumbled onto the Bullet Journal, and the heavens opened.
Not so much a planner, the Bullet Journal is more of a plan; a simple framework of ordering the business of life (the ideas of life, the lists of life, the inspiration of life, you get the idea) using any blank notebook or journal, though pages with a dot grid are suggested (and there is an 'official' bullet journal, if you'd like).
The best thing about all this? Your journal can be tailored to fit (no more pages that don't get used!). Whether you like lots of color and doodads decorating your pages (markers, washi tape, etc), or instead you prefer a spare, simple planner with pencil only, it can be done. Either way, it's a sweet opportunity for a bit of calligraphy, real or faux.
Though there are some pretty swanky journals out there, with a heafty amount of pages to fill, I decided to dip my toes in with this one, the perfect blank slate to take me through the next few months.
That's a relief. No more November and December nights searching planners for the new year. Come January 2016, I'll already be rolling, having found the perfect one for me.
Do you have a planner that works wonders for you? Do tell!
Wishing you a pleasant week's beginning, friends! Hello, November!
