It was a quick trip, here, then there, with not a lot of time to dawdle, but at the end of one day and the beginning of the next, there was a wee bit of time to walk hand-in-hand with my man down a lovely main street and peer through windows at what was inside. Or, what was outside, as was the case with this old stone building covered with Virginia Creeper in all it's autumn glory (and now I really can't wait to have it growing on our little house!).
The only stores that we ducked inside were coffee shops (dark roast drip for him, no cream or sugar, and either chai tea or hazelnut decaf latte for me), one haberdashery where I found this book (which I'm almost half way through already - an insightful read), and an 'emergency' stop into a knitting shop to get more yarn for this project.
In this pace of life (and especially on this Monday as I look at a full week ahead), I'm pocketing the memory of these quieter moments, keeping them within arm's reach, touching them again when I need the reminder to slow to a stroll at least once every day.
Wishing you a gentle week's beginning, friends.
