Hello loves! Just a quick peek in here to wave and say that I'm finally, finally on the mend. Whew. First time on my feet today for any significant time in over a week! In the right light, small victories look just like big ones, no?
I'm most happy to report, however, that it is unquestionably spring in these parts. Spring! Sunlight is pulling green from beneath last year's tinder-grass. New calves are up on spindle legs and knobby knees. And the first robin pair was sighted just yesterday. This feels so good.
The boys have been fishing and building campfires. They head outside as soon as they can and don't come back in until they have to. There's dirt ground into their knees, a ruddiness in their cheeks, and a fresh grin around their edges. But their eyes say it all.
Spring.
