With Shelter No.4, friends, you'll find most of the main level to be as in Shelter No. 3, with its vaulted ceiling over the great room and kitchen, a reading nook under the standard stair, a full bathroom across the hall, and the master bedroom at its end. The master bath off the master bedroom is optional, however, and can be replaced with a large, deep window seat instead, giving a private curl-up-with-a-book place in the master.
The real difference with this plan is in the loft. This loft is a wide open space to do with what your imagination creates and your needs require. How good is that?
In the plans, I've included inspiration for a bunk loft that will sleep three (two in a stacked bunk bed, one in a separate bed nook under a window) at one end of the room.
At the opposite end of the room, there is provision for a long work space under a window, and a wall full of storage. Basically, I took our boys' loft, mixed it with inspiration, and made it even better (and, as with all the other plans in the collection, the ceiling heights upstairs give plenty of headroom, even for tall ones).
But the great thing is? If your need is not for kid space, but for guest space, this is it. If it's for guest space and home office or studio space, this is it. If it's for a separate den with the latest and greatest screen for maximum movie viewing, this is it. Oh, the possibilities...
In a nutshell, Shelter No.4 has:
:: 1100 square feet
:: one bedroom
:: one loft
:: one or two bathrooms
:: sleeps 2 to 5
