Hello, friends! As we move into a time of our summer that has the potential of going crazy-busy, I’ve chosen to shore up our intent for simplicity, and step away from a few things here so I can attend to a few things there. We’ll be keeping summer with campfires and fishing, boating and books, with friends, family , and cousins about. Between, among, and around all this, I will be attending to some other commitments that I have in the works that you will surely be hearing about just as soon as I can tell.
But, I won’t leave you wordless!
I’ve chosen several posts from the archives to re-post again for your enjoyment, beginning with this one, today, first posted on May 9, 2012 when we were in the beginning stages of finishing our cabin (yes, that’s the toilet sitting in the middle of the living room). I hope to have a fresh post for you now and then, too. And, of course, I’ll be showing up on Instagram regularly, as well.
But, before I leave my desk today, may I just take a moment and say how amazing you are? You people who’ve found this blog in one way or another, who’ve spiked those traffic meters crazy-high, who keep coming back, who’ve passed it on to others, who’ve sent me the most wonderful email and left the best of comments (I love hearing from you)! I am amazed.
You are loved!

We're learning to dance this life. You can only plan and lead to a certain degree, then you must follow, twirl, side-step, dip, dance.
Dance.
And when you realize that this is okay, and that it's part of it all, then the little bits and bobs that bite and bump are nothing to worry about, really.
Just dance in the slightly out-of-controlled-ness of it all. Don't fret about the forty mile round-trip at 2:00 a.m. for medicine for the sick one. Slide easily into freshen-all-the-laundry-because-the Man-may-be-leaving-tomorrow mode, then, in early evening slide right back out again, because he's not leaving after all (though it's good to know that the laundry is done and the bag is packed for when he does head north).
The rest of the flooring should be arriving in two days, but if it doesn't, just dance. (And maybe host a yard sale, instead?)
Ah, this life. It makes me tired. It makes me happy.
It makes me dance.
