And now it’s May. And the grass is green. And there are so many things to tell you! The first of which is a heartfelt Hello! since you and I both know it’s been a while. But, I have to say that, even though my fingers didn’t strike the keys here, you were always near to my thoughts while I was away, and I found myself writing in my head to you often. I hope you feel loved!
Now then.
I made pillows. Throw pillows. Two of which are slipped in burlap (which I’ve found to be among my favorite), two in a cotton with a chevron print (which I’ve found to be offensive to some), and one is still naked, waiting to be covered in a printed fabric which does not yet exist in this house (you know what that’s like, searching for the perfect fabric). But, my goodness, there was so much more than pillows going on here! I painted, I hammered, I thrifted. I curated art, framed art, hung art. I unpacked the silver julep cups and the footed crystal vase. I styled shelves, re-styled shelves, and was pretty well wrapped in deep, creative thought. For three weeks? Yes, something like that.
Then, last Friday, there was a photo shoot! A shoot of the interior of this little house! It didn’t involve a troop of pros with a mass of fancy cameras; it was just me and my trusty Canon with a borrowed, crazy-awesome lens, and some lighting equipment that I had no idea how to operate. It was scary. It was awesome, It was exciting. It was exhausting. Yes, all that. And?
I think you know what this means!
You, the faithful, will finally begin to see – not just snippets and glimpses, not just teasers anymore – but full-on wide-angle shots of the interior of this little house! Shall we all cheer together? You’ve been so very patient over the last year. From the day I told you of this cabin, you’ve waited to see what was going on in here. So many of you have asked, and now I’m very happy to say: Mark your calendars, friends, because, beginning next Monday, May 13, the reveal will begin!
Woot!
