I did mention a mountain lake and boats that sail, didn't I?
Did I mention a good-looking sailor who was looking for a crew? And did I mention that this sailor didn't mind if the crew was inexperienced?
Good thing I'm mentioning all this now.
Because I have a feeling that something permanent may have started that day with that sailor, this crew, and that boat.
I sat on the starboard side (or was it port?), and pulled on a rope when told. Actually, it wasn't a rope, with was a "sheet".
Huh.
Looked like a rope. Felt like a rope. Wasn't a rope. It was a "sheet".
I also kept an eye on those little red ribbons you see there on the sail. Except they aren't little red ribbons. They're tell tales.

I kept an eye on the tell tales.
They tell the sailor how the airflow is moving over the sail, which is really just like a wing, and if the sail is luffing, you have to trim the sail by pulling on the sheet.
Or something like that.
I must have luffed the trim, or sailed the sheet, or roped the sail, or whatever, very well, (or maybe I'm just really cute, and the sailor really likes me?!) 'cause he's going out again, come Sunday, and he wants me to go with him!
I'd say that's a tell tale sign.
