I've had this roll of beautiful old wallpaper for a while now. I found it one day in a crowded thrift shop and instantly fell in love with the pattern and colors. I have no idea of its age, but knew it must come home with me; that it would be the perfect thing for something someday.
That someday was last weekend; that something was star ornaments! The pattern is my interpretation of this one. A layer of clear glitter in the center of each star gives a beautiful shimmer, and natural jute twine makes the perfect mix of elegant and rustic.
I've made a dozen so far, with a couple dozen more to come. Just as soon as more clear glass glitter arrives in the mail!
Note: A reader emailed and asked how I got the stars to hang from the twine. Here's how: Using a small diameter hole punch, I placed a hole in one of the 'sections' of the star before I began rolling them into points. When the star was finished, I simply threaded the twine through the hole!
