These are some of the sketches around here that I've been loving lately, done by the eight-year-old boy. He's inspired by his cartooning brother, but independent enough to choose his own style - his subjects are usually animals and birds that have a more realistic look. Love that.
Little did I know, when I sat gazing at him as an infant-in-arms, my mama's eyes taking in and loving every dimple, crease, and eyelash, that one day I'd be sitting with his artwork in hand, gazing for what could be hours, my mama's eyes taking in and loving every line, form, mark, and smudge.
He's my boy.
