I get to show you something...girly! Pink-y, flower-y, sherbet-y, frill-y girl-y. I know that this may not seem all that exciting, unless of course, you happen to be the mama of all boys, like me. I love my rough and tumblers, but when I get to sew for the little girlies in my life, well, it's definately something to clear my throat and sing out about.
This one went to seven-year-old Emily who invited me, her "biggest best friend," to her birthday party, along with 16 of her little friends. I loved it!
She's a girl who loves pink, so pink she got! This Moda fabric was perfect for her. The skirt is a variation on the twirly skirt. I made it not-so-full this time. I like it.
And for Jasmine, something bright and colorful will be just right for all her six-year-old comings and goings-- from church, to running around in the backyard, to sittin' and telling jokes to my boys on the phone.
Add her floppy hat and her pretty smile, and she'll be set!
And now, I must get back to the other project of the week, spring-cleaning! (I see I'm not the only one!) I'm part way through, and am loving the clean windows, blinds, and ceilings. Now on to the light fixtures, kitchen cabinets, floors, carpets, etc., etc.
Everything fresh and clean; it may make the body ache, but it does the soul well. Ah, yes!
