He's almost 4, this little tuffy. Four?? Yes, it's true, 4! As wobbly as that makes me feel inside, I take heart when I see those dimpled hands--proof that he's still my little boy.
This one loves to dress up. I mean, put on some black boots, a leather-looking vest and pants, an eye patch, a smear of black marker under the nose, grab a rubber bullet gun, and your a pirate for sure. Can it get much better than this? Well, we are going to try.
He wants to be a Musketeer for his birthday. Sounds good, because we just happen to have the right lot of boys to have a Three Musketeer party. So, I grabbed a pencil and paper, and came up with the rough sketch for the costumes. You do need costumes, you know, because you can't imagine that you're a musketeer, you have to be a musketeer!
Rough sketch done, I rounded up some $1 per yard fabric (I love $1 per yard fabric for costumes!), and drew my pattern on newsprint. Now I have my work cut out for me, literally!
Oh! Speaking of newsprint, see that roll of paper? That is a newsprint end-roll. You can get them free for the asking from your local newspaper printer. So, ask I did, and we've used it for everything from patterns to posters around here.
Time to get my sewing machine humming. Three musketeer costumes for my Three Musketeers, comin' right up.
