Our recent words about contentment inspired me to begin a series that celebrates ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. But, it's not all about me - what have you done with what you have? I'd love to hear.
It came with history and stitches and memories and marks, this chair.
I knew when I spied it that day, destined for the dump, its story wasn't over. It had more to offer, and I was willing to give it a place to do just that (besides, um, an orange chair in the house? Crazy-good).
From big house to little house, it's been there for us. Will there be a new chair here one day? Probably not. New leather upholstery on this one? Maybe one day. But, for now, this one's just right.
I look over and see that it's due for a new round of stitches. I don't mind. The broken places in our lives need that every now and then.
Do what you can with what you have.
