I’ve happily swept up most of the sawdust. For now. The carpenter will be bringing more in, I’m sure, as he goes in and out with beaded pine boards – cutting, installing, making. I say bring it! My broom and I can handle the sawdust. People? I am quite excited to announce that finally, finally we’ve officially arrived at the Bed Nooks & Closets Stage!! Oh, my! This means sawdust, this means shuffling, reorganizing, purging, and a general scene of explosion around the house. And when said explosion happens? It’s good to have tidy little vignettes like that one up there, where your eyes can land for a rest now and then.
Grin.
It all started in the boy loft the other day when the carpenter installed built-in bed nooks for each boy. Remember this post from way back when? Yes, the inspiration for our loft room and its three bunks had simmered long. But, the waiting was celebrated late on a recent night by three boys and their Mama when the last bed was made, the last boy treasure had found a home, and the last of the dust was swept. The handmade plank closet doors will be installed on the loft closet within days, then it will be on to four built-in closet/cabinets in the master bedroom downstairs, each with its own handmade plank doors, and, my goodness, we just can’t quite believe any of this!
And, though the loft is still far from ‘done’ (you should what’s in my head!), I’ll give you a little peek at this shot, taken after dark, with my iPhone – just for you on this Wednesday morning:
