In honor of the holiday, we bring you a special Thanksgiving Day edition of The Wildhairs. The scene opens with the Wildhairs family arriving at the home of Spud's sister and her family, the Mildhairs, for Thanksgiving dinner. Here enters Spud, complete with a pilgrim's hat...
Today, the baking starts. From tomorrow til Sunday, we will enjoy pumpkin muffins, a little cranberry bread, a little turkey, and, oh, I'd love to try this!
Hmm...just what will I do with these lovely thrifted scarves/shawls/wraps? It's something to ponder while lying awake at 1:30 a.m.
The annual holiday post going out today, (hopefully) arriving in mailboxes everywhere, just in time for Thanksgiving!

'"Doggone it!" Ben thought as he lay awake in his sleeping bag. "I can't get any sleep tonight!" Ben Samson was on a camping trip and was (obviously) having a hard time going to sleep. Ben rolled his eyes (for about the hundredth time that night). When his eyes came back into focus, about fifty yards away, the trees started swaying like waves on a stormy sea. The birds lit on their perches shot upward for their lives in terror like water shooting up in a geyser. Suddenly, a large, hairy creature came striding out of the wood. Ben quickly burried himself in his sleeping bag, frozen and paralized by fear. He finally gathered his courage, and, camera in hand, took the best image of Bigfoot yet in history.'

Oops! Let's see, I know what we'll do, we'll call this particular comic Funnies on Sunday! Plus One - how will that be?
(And I have to say that this week's comic strip tardiness has nothing to do with our resident cartoonist. No, it has everything to do with his publisher. Ahem.)
As you may recall, a few weeks ago the ten-year-old cartoonist debuted his new feature family, The Wildhairs. This week, he thought it was high time that he gave you a proper introduction to each unusual, interesting, odd, and wonderful character in this four-member family.
Please meet:
The parents. Can you tell that she's a bit uptight, and that he's a couch potato?
The kids. Laid-back Spike, and his skinny sister, Toothpick. Spike is humble, cool, and collected. Toothpick is humbling.
And, in case you were wondering, the cartoonist says that, yes, all his artwork is protected.
Now, then, just wait til you see what he's got cookin' for next Sunday.
