Wow, this life.
Just about the time that you settle in for a nice afternoon ride in a smart black buggy pulled by glossy, high-stepping horses, your road narrows unexpectedly and, in an instant, it becomes treacherous and strewn with debris. The sky suddenly drops, all dark and ugly, smeared with the color of bruises, and a shattering clap of thunder right overhead spooks the horses into a feverish gallop. Their harnesses strain as they go careening around a sudden sharp turn as if the gashing fangs of hungry wolves are nashing at their haunches.
And you? You're in the thrashing buggy, crouched near the floor, pummeled by fear, desperately grasping for what is stable while this out-of-your-control ride nearly throws you.
This is something that you never expected on this afternoon ride in the sunshine.
Yes, one way, and then another, life can take you by surprise. Almost as soon as the job started here, it is over. Your road has taken a different turn.
You have walked rocky places before, yes, but not this one. You've had hopes dashed before, but not these hopes.
Just what, now, are you going to do?
Cry. Every tear is precious. Every one. There are enough buckets to hold them.
Hold On. When you reach deep for faith, trust, and hope, but you find your fingers clunking the bottom of emptiness, remember, Provision has already been made. He knew before you did, and it's on the way.
"...I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."
Let Go. That buggy ride in the afternoon with sunshine on your shoulders? It's not for today. Oh, and those dust bunnies around your house? Don't worry too much about them. They'll still be there when you're ready.
Keep Writing. Truth be told, letting this blog go silent has crossed your mind. But you need to write. You need to write about the downs as well as the ups, the twisting and the turning of life. And remember, you aren't the author of this life, you're only the scribe. Scribe on.
Make Stars. Lots of them. And add some glitter, too. Because that's what stars do, they shine.
Always.
Wow...amazing.

Wow..I always knew you were gifted, but you can put into words what so many of us only keep in our hearts. How brave and wonderful to be so unselfish in this uncertain time. Prayers and blessings on you all. Beautifully written.

I can think of no words to comfort you during this trying time, except HIS words....
Proverbs 10:3- "The LORD will not allow the righteous to hunger..."
and
Proverbs 3: 5-6- "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
May you gain comfort and peace in His unfailing promises.
Love you sweet friend~

No words of mine could begin to console you but His words are trustworthy and always true. Cling to the word and know He loves you so. Know that we are praying for Russ and your family and that all will see the mighty hand of God.
Carmella, keep shining and let your glitter fall on all those around you. Always.
Love you so, Denise
